From Fishersville while we were driving back to Pennsylvania through Shenandoah Valley, suddenly on the highway we found a direction to Luray Caverns, one of the most spectacular natural wonders of the world underneath the valley. It was discovered in 1878 by a tinsmith and a local photographer and gradually became an internationally acclaimed destination. In fact it is still in the making for last four million centuries. So my nephew, Bappa wheeled down the exit to Luray.

On way back from Charlottesville…

On my way back from Charlottesville, I had been to Fishersville, a small picturesque town in Virginia.

Before that, we drove to Colonial Williamsburg, America’s first planned city which was the intellectual and revolutionary center of the American colonies from 1699 to 1780. It was the thriving capital of Virginia where the dream of American Freedom and Independence was taking shape. It was the most influential place where fundamental concepts of republic, responsible leadership, a sense of public service, self government and individual liberty were nurtured under the leadership of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, George Mason and Peyton Randolph. In fact only a few miles away from Williumsburg, at Jamestown, America’s colonial history began in 1607 which came to an end with the seize of nearby Yorktown in 1781.

The present Colonial Williamsburg is the accurately recreated version of the old Williamsburg, where even today one can feel the pulse of the 17th/18th century colonial era.

LOOK3– My first venture

More than two months I am in the US- to be more precise from June 01,’08. Just after coming to the US, fortunately I got the opportunity to attend the 2nd LOOK3 photo festival in Charlottesville, Virginia. Not only that, I was sponsored by one respectable person of Charlottesville to attend one photography workshop there under David Allan Harvey, the renowned photographer of National Geographic as well as of Magnum. I must convey my deepest regards to the organizers of Look3 and particularly Andrew Owen, the Coordination Manager, for lending their support and inspiration to make a dream come true to me.

During my stay at Charlottesville, I have interacted with many photographers of different countries. But I really enjoyed my association with some of them. The first name, I should spell is Pedro of Dominican Republic. In fact even after returning from Charlottesville to New Jersey, my present home, I spent a whole day with Pedro in New York, of course with the camera in hand.
